Privacy Policy
How we handle your information. Searching is anonymous, with no account required and no cookies set.
FindExposureTherapy (“FindExposureTherapy,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is a free, public resource operated by MyTherapy LLC, doing business as Bia (“Bia,” the “Company”) — the same company that operates the Bia phobia-recovery app at biajourney.com. FindExposureTherapy and Bia are run by one company under one set of policies.
FindExposureTherapy itself is an informational website. It is a public directory of clinicians who practise exposure therapy. The listings shown here are held by Bia and read from biajourney.com each time a page loads. Searching is anonymous and requires no account. If you choose to continue to Bia and create an account, Bia’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy — which are this same company’s policies — also apply to your use of Bia.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you access or use FindExposureTherapy, and how it is used. Please read it carefully. By using FindExposureTherapy you agree to this Policy.
Our privacy-first approach
FindExposureTherapy is designed to be used without an account and without giving us any personal details. You can read every page and search the whole directory anonymously. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the site, and searching does not require you to identify yourself.
Information collected
Information you actively provide
The FindExposureTherapy website does not ask you to create an account. When you search the directory, the terms you enter — a location, a condition, an insurer — are sent to Bia so that it can return the matching listings. They are sent without any cookie or identifier, are not linked to your name or contact details, and are not stored against you. The one form on the site, “invite a therapist,” stores nothing here: it opens Bia’s own invite page with the details you typed already filled in, so you can review them before sending. If you separately contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.
Aggregate usage
To understand how the directory is used and to improve it, Bia may count anonymous, aggregated activity — for example, how many searches were run for a region that has no listed clinician, so we know where to recruit. These counts are aggregated for analysis and are not linked to your identity. We use this only to measure and improve the service.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, when you visit FindExposureTherapy our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used for security, reliability, and aggregate, anonymized usage statistics.
Cookies and local storage
FindExposureTherapy sets no cookies. It uses one small piece of browser local storage, to remember your last search so the page is not empty when you come back; that never leaves your device. For full details, see our Cookie Policy. You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
Third-party services
To deliver this site we rely on a small number of third parties, which may receive your IP address as a normal part of serving content to you:
- Bia (MyTherapy LLC) — holds the clinician directory and serves the listings shown here.
- GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc. / Microsoft) — hosts and serves the website.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Linked third-party sites are outside our control; we encourage you to review their policies.
How information is used
- To operate, maintain, and secure the website and the directory.
- To return the clinician listings that match a search you run.
- To produce aggregated, anonymized analytics so we can understand usage and improve the directory.
- To respond to you if you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information.
Clinician listings
Each listing shows information a clinician has chosen to publish about their professional practice, reviewed by us before it goes live. It is published at their request, and they can update or remove it at any time from their Bia account. If you are a listed clinician with a question about your listing, email support@biajourney.com.
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service; to perform any service you request; and, where required, with your consent (which you may withdraw at any time).
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because searches are anonymous and carry no identifier, we are often unable to identify data as belonging to a particular individual, but we will honor valid requests to the extent we can. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@biajourney.com.
Your rights (California – CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Exercising your rights will not result in different pricing or a lower quality of service. To make a request, contact us at support@biajourney.com.
Data security
We and our providers apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Bia’s systems are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). No method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and any transmission of data is at your own risk.
Children
In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), FindExposureTherapy is intended for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian should manage any use by a child. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@biajourney.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date. Your continued use of FindExposureTherapy after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
